‘131. Urusvati (H. Roerich) understands the beauty of cooperation with the Subtle World. If someone imagines such a connection as communication with the world of the dead, he only reveals his ignorance. We work constantly with this living world. We are particularly strengthened by the fact that the characteristic qualities of our brothers from the subtle world convey an extraordinary expansion of consciousness. Those who are in the gross material state are able to experience one side of a phenomenon, but understanding of our sciences only comes with the addition of knowledge of the subtle world. One must not limit oneself to a purely physical perspective. A time will come when people will enrich their lives through natural means, but to do so, one must be able to recognise that life is everywhere. One might ask: Does working with disembodied beings and those in the dense astral plane cause any difficulties? Not in the slightest. Cooperation takes place on a level of united consciousness. Such workers are similar in their thinking, and such union forms a true community. It is true that a community built on this principle is the crowning achievement, but this requires a united and refined consciousness of all. Numerous conditions must be fulfilled beforehand in order to achieve the union of consciousness and cooperation. Only in the higher strata of the subtle world does one begin to understand what constitutes the power of successful development, but once back on Earth, people forget the value of mutual goodwill. Likewise, they forget Our existence, even though they had this knowledge in the subtle world. They met our brothers and understood the significance of Dokiud (a place in the subtle world). Meanwhile, the deadlines are approaching – either people accept their predestined fate or they give priority to catastrophe.’
The reference made in 1935 to the impending catastrophe came true in the Second World War, and today, in our present era (2025), humanity once again faces this decision.
The warning given by the Brotherhood, looking into the future, of a later choice between spiritual renewal and great catastrophe was mentioned by Nicolas Roerich to Sina Fosdick (Diary of Sina Fosdick) and expressed in parallel by the Tibetan master D.K., who in February 1949 gave humanity two generations to choose the right path.
‘I will not go into detail about the evil that holds the world in bondage. Enough is already known, and a small number (small in relation to the many millions) of hierarchical workers are fighting in all departments of life to make humanity aware of the danger in which it finds itself and of the finality of the decision that the next two generations will be forced to make.’
At present (2025), the conferences of the Brotherhood are taking place in the subtle world, as scheduled every 25 years (the first of each century being of seminal importance for the rest of that century). As an example of the training of thought that is a prerequisite for participating in life in the subtle worlds during incarnation, we give an exercise:
Mahatma M. gave the following explanation of the symbol of the pyramid in his diaries: ‘Among the interpretations of the pyramids, there is one that predicts three worlds: the upper world is the fiery world, in which all things are one; the middle of the space is the ethereal world, in which the natures are already divided; and the ground is the dense world. This division extends into the depths. Thus, the division of the steps between the worlds is symbolised by the symbol of the pyramid.
Truly, such a symbol is significant. The dense world separates the natures so much that it is difficult to imagine how they will merge at the fiery summit. But the pyramid was built for the summit. Its base was only intended to bring all sides together harmoniously and completely.’
Almost 100 years later, we use the tetrahedral pyramid as a symbol for the present and the future. With its four equilateral triangles, the Platonic solid of the tetrahedron can rotate freely in space while always retaining its shape. The base of the tetrahedron cannot be determined, and thus the physical is to be understood in a new structure as a condensation of the subtle. The tetrahedron symbolises the ascent back to the fiery origin, behind which another trinity of cosmic genesis is hidden.
We recommend ‘thinking through’ the structure of the two bodies in comparison in order to enable or strengthen inner access to the higher mental and fiery-Buddhist.
As a ‘counterpart,’ the body of the black cube (cube) in Mecca can be included in the comparative consideration.
Mahatma M.: ‘The Master was asked, “What lies behind the veil of fire (the Buddhist plane)?” When he uttered the word “Aum,” no one felt the full meaning of the Supreme Power. It was asked whether this supreme power could also manifest itself among earthly creatures. It was said that it could. People were confused again, because if this power is beyond the elements, how can it be contained? The Master said, ‘There are no earthly words to express the Higher Lights, but sometimes you can see signs of them. Learn to be attentive!’’
