“For us, the movement is a rhythm”.
This line from the song “Glory”, about the Selma-Montgomery marches, reflects our way of thinking with regard to Theosophy.
On an individual level, “movement” is fully expressed in the mantra “On the path to the centre of being”.
Even though the majority of readers are engaged in creating and practising the “arrow-shaped thought towards the goal”, the mantra proactively breaks the chains of mental and astral slavery once it has become a daily inner process.
No one successfully walks this path alone, but only in connection with many or all people and “all that is”. This leads to the next mantra:
To greet the light in the souls of people means to give the seed of spirit an impulse, so that it kindles its energy, which then reveals itself as spiritual light in the person addressed.
Anyone who watches films, images or videos of the Selma-Montgomery marches gains an impression of the movement and also of the inner shining of the light in the soul.
In terms of quality, a few thousand conscious ‘walkers’ and ‘igniters’ outweigh many who are asleep and sluggish. Anyone willing to join those already active will get into the movement and remain in it.

Our third impulse is the Shiva Mantra. It creates a powerful connection to the solar space, which we understand as a subtle space. Shiva awaits the earthly resonance so that, through this response, he may strengthen the movement and the spiritual light within humanity.
It is not easy for us to say, but we must point out that the many ‘saccharine’ and ‘romantic’ invocations of Shiva, such as those found and heard on the internet, do not correspond to the essence of the one being invoked. Shiva is an ‘IT’ and, from a human perspective, both male and female. From this description alone, the fundamental attitude towards Shiva should be serious and respectful. On the other hand, from a theosophical perspective, alongside respect, any form of fear or devotion towards Shiva is inappropriate.
As you move towards Shiva, the essential aspect of the Solar Logos, Shiva will move you – all the more so when, by kindling the light in the souls of others, you take them with you on the ascending path.
Three mantras, three paths that are one path. The journey along this path into the light can only succeed if the heart is the driving force and the rhythm. It arises from the point described in the foundational text as the heart point.
The foundational text ‘Theosophy’ can be understood both from a cosmic and a solar perspective.
