‘Immersing oneself in the sea of flames of light.’
This is immersion in the mental, subtle space.
Here, the lowest and highest thought forms exist simultaneously. For the seeker of truth, this space is the battlefield for the struggle for continuous consciousness over many incarnations. Here, judgement and discernment must be developed.
In this fiery sea there is an abyss that must be overcome. When theosophy speaks of a bridge to be built, it refers to the Anthakarana.
Specialised knowledge alone is no guarantee for the continuity of consciousness over several incarnations. It must be supplemented by the simultaneous conquest of various fields of knowledge and science. Only then will the bridge be solid and stable. However, the basis is formed by the contemporary foundations of theosophy. Together they form a hardening of the arrow for the next ‘leap’.
