Supermundane 433.
“Urusvati (Urusvati is Helena Roerich) knows that even great men of action reveal different qualities in each incarnation. When one considers a whole series of incarnations, one can see for oneself the string of pearls that is the accumulation of experiences. In this connection, it is particularly instructive to note how different the sequences are. One should not assume that qualities are formed according to earthly understanding and that each incarnation is a direct continuation of the previous one. The law of evolution is much broader in its structures. From the supermundane heights, it is easier to see how the spirit must perfect itself. There is no contradiction in a spirit acquiring new facets according to the supermundane order.
However, different accumulations take place not only in the course of several incarnations; even during a single earthly life, one can observe a change in desires and aspirations. This can, of course, take place in an involutionary process, in which case the person falls into primitiveness and dullness. However, I am not talking about such dark phenomena, but would like to emphasise, on the contrary, how much a person can accumulate in the course of a single earthly life. One can learn indefinitely. The impulse of growing consciousness will indicate the different ways in which one can search. And We help in such a search.
We direct the attention of the person concerned to a new book. We stimulate useful turns of conversation. We send thoughts about new discoveries. We imperceptibly prevent harmful errors. It is a joy to render help unnoticed. We appreciate it when the fighters courageously ward off the blows of darkness. May people remember from time to time how they were taught in the Subtle World, how light beings approached them and how the growth of consciousness gave the teachers the opportunity to approach them. It is exactly the same in earthly life.”
Mahatma Morya in Supermundane, the last book in the Agni Yoga series.
The brotherhoods, with their female and male members, work in the manner described.
This may be a hint to every seeking learner.
