Is religion still a guide today, or has it become an emotional prison?
Theosophy offers models of explanation that go beyond the physical senses. It does not deny science but expands it into spiritual realms. In a world where lies can be weapons, an impersonal presentation of truth is essential.
Historically, religion tried to make the unknown understandable. Today, science explains much of the physical world. It is therefore vital to ask: What is the true spiritual value of a religion today?
- How does the religion treat and view women?
- Does it use fear to keep people loyal?
- Can individuals change their future through their own actions?
- Are promises linked to financial donations?
- How are people of other faiths judged?
We assume that higher realms rarely interfere directly in human affairs. Instead, they stimulate thoughts and intuition. There is no “chosen people”; spiritual liberation is earned through one’s own actions and experience, guided by universal ethics like the UN Charter of Human Rights.
The concept of “sin” is often used as a tool of control. In Eastern traditions, “Karma” (self-caused fate) is a more logical concept. The idea that priests can grant forgiveness is a barrier to true soul growth.
Theosophy does not make religion obsolete. It is an offer to increase self-awareness and to test the value of any religious system. Any faith that practices tolerance and kindness deserves respect.
