There is no &#8220;chosen people&#8221;; spiritual liberation is earned through one&#8217;s own actions and experience, guided by universal ethics like the UN Charter of Human Rights.<\/p>\n<p>The concept of &#8220;sin&#8221; is often used as a tool of control. In Eastern traditions, &#8220;Karma&#8221; (self-caused fate) is a more logical concept. The idea that priests can grant forgiveness is a barrier to true soul growth.<\/p>\n<p>Theosophy does not make religion obsolete. It is an offer to increase self-awareness and to test the value of any religious system.
